Default Very not jeep related questions - 2003 Mazda Protege5

Last year I had a 2003 Mazda Protege5 with 179xxx miles that started giving me issues. Long story short I sold it to fund my project Jeep, and I've regretted it ever since. But you never forget your first, so today I texted the new owner and asked him to contact me if he ever wanted to sell it and he informed me that it was in an accident but the only damage was the driver's front wheel is bent in and he planned on scrapping it soon. Now I know its hard to say without examing it or let alone seeing it but here are my two questions.
1. What are the chances that the damage is repairable and not unibody damage?
2. How high in mileage are these 2.0's known to go?
I have posted on the mazda forums but they seem like a ghost town so I figured I'd try here
Thanks in advance for any help.

Broken axle or unibody damage?

I dont know how those are setup underneath so its hard to say. Control arms could be tweaked, cracked, or mounts damaged. Could be frame damage. Who knows. You will have to crawl under and check it all out, or have someone that knows what theyre looking at, take a look. You wont know until then. They plan on scrapping it, so the repairs may be more than its worth, if thats the only reason for scrapping it. But ive known plenty that have scrapped a vehicle for less. Ask if they are willing and able to take a couple more pics and decide if its worth it to you.

I'm seeing it in the morning. Gonna take a good look over everything. The current owner hasn't looked under the car since the accident just assumed there is frame damage. Control arm was my first thought. I have gotten some good info from Mazdas247.
