i think if i did(which i wont) it would be out of thinner metal.... 3/8" was a bit much to work with at times...

i like how you used the ball mount for the shackle. I'll do that on mine to save time and drill bits. I'm doing mine out of some 1/4in I beams. Thanks for the specs on the mounting too

Nice bumper build! im hoping to maybe use some of my dads metal scrap pile to fab up a bumper similar to yours. i really like the way it looks. and the trailer hitch idea is great!

haha I know EXACTLY what you mean. Sounds like a cool deal, can wait to see some raw steel about to be painted.

well i grabbed both the grinders (rough disk and finishing disk) and i am going to grind it down and throw some paint on it tomorrow.

While i had it off today i weighed it!

88lbs... a bit more than i had hoped for, but i am not complaining, i figure for that it is its not to bad

so today I went ahead and ground down all of the welds to make it look pretty! and then i gave it a good coat of high build "rust stop". once i figure out what i want to paint it with, whether it be bed liner or standard flat black i will take a 3m sanding block to it and give about 6 good coats!

I am leaving the trailer hitch crome though....
