I have to say, I am not a fan of halos on XJs, as preppye wrote, the roundness looks a little funny when everything else is so square. However, I'm loving your fab skills preppye, that is a first-class mod. Nicely done.

thanks , i also liked the squared halo that i had before , but the projector wouldnt fit if the squared halo was left so it had to be removed, i left the link on the squared halo headlights , they are sold on ebay for about 30 us , the only thing is that they bring halogen bulbs and you have to change them to leds to give them the cool look...

I am hoping the circle Halos can work since the lights on my lightbar are round. We will have to see.

Preppey- When you installed your lights, the wiring harness that came with the projectors, did you usethat in the passenger ligh plus, and leave the drivers out as well? I saw there was only one plug, and I read on another post that the person did that with there eautoworks harness, so I was just curious about that, still waiting for my red CCFL 9cm to come in to work on that project,. lol

Hi there , I did not do it like that cause my hi/lo tilt is damaged so I just used a switch to to hi/lo , if your tilt is working ok you just have tu wire the negative of the solenoid to the negative of the headlight and the positive to the hi beam wire , those will be located on the socket you are pluggin the hid ballast if that is what you are talking about, if its for the halos I used the wire from the front turn signal, the one that stays always on , so I suggest that you wire that with the hazzard on so you don wire it to the one that blinks when you use your turn signal, I may be thinking my white halos got lost cause its been almost a month and have not arrived yet..

Yeah, I just got my Red Halos roday, and going to be putting the headlights together for the mean time. Also, I think i am going to wire mine to the marker light. And as for the Hi/Lo, well, mine is hooked to a switch in the Jeep. mines an 88, and the metal rod going down the steering column was bent to hell, so I just ran an on-off-on switch.

LOL. I gotcha. Yeah, I'll be posting. It is just wierd because the red CCFL rings have there own wired little box on it with them. I will be posting a pic soon.

*This pic shows what I was talking about.
7x6 headlight Projector Build-cfhalo.jpg

Now, this box kinda smells like when electrical wires start to burn, but that could be because it is new, like when buying a brand new laptop and you smell that. Anyway, I got to see what the Halos in the projectors look like, because I may just take them apart and tie them in where those green halos are. if I am Uberlucky, could even be the same plug, but comeon, we doubt that very much. lol. I figure the other stuff should be the same. We shall see tomorrow...

********I thought I would update this. Turns out that, even though i ordered 9cm lights to fit in the inner halo, and that is t he measurement for that ccfl, i went to replace it, and my light wouldn't flex at all, really, and snapped. it was to big, as well. So it looks likeI am rocking the Blue and green... oh well, you live and win some, and you lose some. lol.

Ok there is no big deal here , I can see that the halos came with a clear protector and their own ballast, the only thing you need to do is cut the plug from the halo you don't want and put it to the one you are installing , cut the wires half way for both so there is plenty of wire, and you are probably going to have to remove the clear protector from the halo , but this carefully cause halos are made of thin glass.

LOL, Yeah, I broke one trying to get it in there space for the halo. Looks like I'm rolling with green inside and blue outside. What pisses me off is I asked them about a differant color set, red inside, blue outside, they said they couldn't do it. Guess what, now they are selling what a week ago they said they couldn't get. that pisses me off. lol

So, Preppey or anyone who has done this... How the hell do you get the housing apart? I ordered one i thought as plastic... turns out it is glass. I through them in the over for a but to warm them up, and started, but all i was doing was chipping glass.

You said the housings in your build with the square halos were plastic? I don't mind ordering another set. How difficult was it to seperate those housings? I got pissed when I chipped mine.

Yes, mine where plastics I took them appart with a flat screwdriver I did not put them on the oven , but I did same thing wit a glass ones with a knife ,but don't push the glass to the sides just slide the knife trough the border of the glass inserting it every time a little more do it carefully and slowly. Keep me posted.

Yeah, i put them in the oven to try to soften the sealant on it. didn't work. lol.

What kind of bulbs did you get? I'm waiting for the new housings to come in, and trying to pick out a set of bulbs, but i get confused with the 9003's and S2Ds (I think that is what it is called.)

it just that they dont use that kind of sealant on this headlights i believe they just use silicon , try it inserting a knife as i told you all over the edge its easier like that, about the bulbs i used 55w H4 4300k HID's i bought on ebay too , ill sent you the link you just have to tell them the bulb color and size and they will send it to you , i have bought about 10 kits from this guys and none have failed in about 5 years...

this is the link to the store with the halos , i got the white one , have not arrived yet , but they also have red ones , but you need to check which size is the one you need , cause im changing the big one so its 95mm the small one i really dont know the size

try using the wires from the corner lights , the one that has a t10 bulb because the front one has one negative and two positives , thats why i told everyone when installing the halos to do it with the hazard on so you dont use the wrong wire, if you already tried that maybe you should check polarity ...
