You said you paid somewhere around $100? This was $125.. Woulda been easier to get it on CL unless you just enjoy making them yourself? Good job though!

I just did mine similar to the OP's, and compared to yours, its much bigger and it can accommodate much more than this one. This looks like you can throw a 31x10.5x15 in there and thats it, where as his has enough for 2 Jerry cans, a tire, 10+ lights, shovel, axe and a hi lift oh and the kid that fell in the mud while he was trail riding so he doesnt get the backseat all muddy

Pretty much what brendancfarrell said...plus I enjoy making my own. I would rather make it, if I can, than buy it.

Exactly put. even as Zombie said himself, he got a small one for 125 bucks, where I spent 98 and you probably spent around the same

Did you bend those corner pieces? Or can you buy them that way?

Those are 90 degree bends. you can buy them at any hardware store where you can buy the conduit

This is a great idea... I thought about making one out of conduit as well and seeing this makes me want to more. That's pretty sweet. Is it pretty sturdy and strong? I want to put my spare tire in it.

Well I built mine outta 3/4" conduit and I've got my 235/75/15 up there and when I try to move the rack, my whole Jeep shakes. plus, I can got 80+mph with my spare in it, during a windy snow storm and nothing moves. i think its sturdy haha

Can you take some pictures of how you mounted it to the roof? I have the rails on top and it looks different than yours. I hope to start a project like this soon, but the only detail I'm working out is how I'll attach it to the actual roof. Mainly just looking for the right brackets.

Also can't wait to see pics of it finished on the roof!
