very good point. unless the OP is going to incorporate good tie down methods into it. looks good looking forward to seeing it finished up.

I would also like to see how this turns out. I have had my Jeep broken in to and was cleaned out. $500 worth of stuff, gone. At least this would keep my stuff (tools, etc.)in the back safe.

Out of curiosity, why did you contour the driver's side around the plastic but not the passenger side?

Because I was going to, and did, just complete a sub enclosure for the cubby hole, and it sticks out about half an inch from the passenger side edge of the storage box/floor.

I lost my drawings, but my plan consists of a trunk area from the Wells to the seat, with speakers in the lid. (They would be blocked in the hatch) and from the end of the Wells to the hatch, drawers and cabinets, one to accommodate a Coleman stove, and other camp necessities. I'm in studyhall now, but ill draw everything up again and post some pictures asap
