Ah ok. The only thing I know is I'm using 1" OD metal pipe 1/8" thick for the fender tubes and probably 2" for the exo itself. What gauge plate would be good for the bumpers?

go solid steel. all day...
im lookin at doing an exo. gonna save up for chromoly tubing, i believe thats what its called... its what we use on our nostalgia funnycar chassis.
im doing a bare minimum exo though, nothing intense.

Again wonder over to pirate, & search DOM vs HREW. I'm not gonna start a big debate here on your build, but the tensile strength & yield points of the 2 are very different. chromo on the other hand isnt worth the $ imho considering the yield points are roughly the same, & the tense strength is only a fraction stronger.

The inside of the bed is all welded up tight now. Nice and solid. Drivers side, middle of the bed, passenger side. Now to grind the welds.

Any where from 1/8" -1/4" for the bumper depending on what part of it. 1/8" with a few bends in it is quite strong. Bore some holes in 1/8" and get a set of dimple dies and make some cool looking corner braces.

Check this out, I hope I did this right. Check out my album, the monster CJ5 my son built is almost all 2" .120 wall DOM and with the right geometry is crazy strong.
