Yeah it was a pretty unique jeep I'm looking to do what my dad did but to how i want it.
and sorry to say it's not a diesel he just like to have it like that, i don't think he liked the idea of it being in water

I have owned Two chopped, soft top cherokee's and I can honestly say I think Id perfer a setup like this on a chop. Probably leaks less, and warmer in winter. Not to mention I like the stack and custom tail lights.

Also a nice rig, But that things strictly an offroad buggy, Atleaste around these parts.
Like the double internal / external cage, and the bobed rear end. Whats that thing got in it for an engine?

In my opinion, you dont need a cage, But you do need some sort of reinforment. I used a 6pt roll bar tied into the floor at the bottom of the b-pillar, the top of the wheel well, and the rear quarters.
This truck held up fairly well to a 50+ mph rear end collision, that bent a pice of 6" c-channel rear bumper into a U shape.

There is a Cherokee sitting down the road from me and it just sits there. I want to see if they will sell it cheap. If I got it I would definitely chop the top. It is a two door and would make the perfect project. Hopefully I can get it. I also have a 1997 Cherokee but it is way to nice right now to start chopping on.

i just got a TJ roll bar and the front bars fit near perfect within a inch from the side panels to bolt in... i may cut it down about 2 inches to make it level with the roof... check out my build page below for pics... the rears i will probly ditch though as i want them at a angle vs. the TJ's box style...
