My Heep has no rust, and I just used the stockers. I placed the tubing in the unirail, and marked it for the holes, then drilled them, and welded nuts to the brackets.

What about weight, steel is heavy...

IDK how much weight I added, but I really don't care too much, I like the added protection the stuff offers!! It hasn't squatted too much though with all of the armor in place.

Thanks for the motivation. I was wondering how I was going to tie mine into the rails but couldn't come up with a good way to do it. One question though, what diameter tube did you use. On hand I have 13 ft of 2x2 1/8" wall square. From what it looks like you used 2x1 rectangle

It won't work for me, i need the low hitch to tow my trailers and it bolts right where u have put the brackets. Another problem is the lift, i have 3.5 and the trailers are already quite angled, when i go to 6.5 i will need to lower the hook.

Default nice

Rear bumper looks great and sits really flush. X2 on stealing the mounting idea. Ive got a nice tube of 3/16 3x6 tube im going to be using on the rear of mine as soon as I get the rest of the crap ive been putting off done like the tranny in my Dodge Ram.

Keep the pics coming and great work Cos...

I would be wary of that. If the rust is bad at the end of the unirail, that is where the weight is bared, so you may need to reinforce it there with some plate. Rust is brutal on our XJs!!

I cut it out to gain access to the interior of the unirail.

It was 5"x2"x3/16" wall tubing that I trimmed down to clear the rear leaf spring bolts.

I missed it, but I'll get in next time, no biggie. I'm not going to rush this work, it's too important that it is done corretly!!

Drop hitch...

Thanks for all of the compliments guys!! It has been a TON of work, but very satisfying as well!! I'll have a lot of pride "built" into this Jeep for sure!!
