Yeah, shipping to NY for a hood (oversize freight) would be crazy (from what I've read of oversized freight anyway). After it's all said and done it'd probably be about as much as the reflexion was, maybe more depending on how everything would price out.

Looks real good, Great job. And I know how time consuming fabbing is. I fabbed my flares and what I thought would take me a week wound up being about three. Nice job on the whole jeep actually. It's hard to "buy" cool.

I'll keep it in mind, maybe come December when the semester ends and i have about 2 month off, I'll see what all the pricing would be and see if it would be worth it.
Thanks!!
Yeah, been there done that. I've built a rear bumper/tire carrier, rock sliders, fabbed the brush guard, and made rear bump stops (still have to make the build thread on that). So I know how an estimate can be way wrong.... Even on installing something, i installed a trans cooler and I said "Ahh it'll be easy, 30min to an hour max....." about 3 or so hours later I'm done. Can't plan everything, the hardest part of that though was trying to find the best spot for airflow and how to mount it. Thats what took the most time.
Thanks, yeah it is.

Alright, well I did the final fitting on the hood before I let my friend have it to do the bodywork. So these are just the pictures of it on the Jeep.

I'm so glad I put the angle on their.

Perfect, about an 1/8"-1/4" before hits the wipers.

Just thought I'd take a picture of underneath, going to get that cleaned up a little and seal it all.

******Also I've been thinking about some accents on the cowl part of the hood. Either black or that lime green but I can't really decide if i really want to or not. Don't even really know any designs either for some.
I know I want something on the side of the Cowl that says either 242 or 4.0 or HO or something. But I can't really decide which one and what color. Either just black, black with green outline, green with black outline, the whole side of the cowl black with green lettering.... I don't know. If someone has a nice idea about one of those please let me know. Open to all opinions. I've even thought about just getting a badge of eBay, i saw some pretty cool ones, but if I could get one painted in the hood It would be even better and more professional.******

I am kinda leaning towards something subdued. Just the same vehicle green with maybe some dark silver lettering. I like the 4.0 HO . Heck....make the cowl part black. Don't get too wild with the signage....just my .02 worth. Awesome job man!

I'm actually going to be over in Cordova today to look at a 99 model 2WD... I recently bought a 94 model 4x4, 5 speed that runs and drives but the body has almost rotted away completely and this 99 looks pretty decent from the photos but needs a motor soooo me thinks it'll make a good 2WD to 4WD project...
Just installed a newly rebuilt motor that my buddy and I built in my 2000 4x4 and it's running awesome now after I had to adjust the timing and change the camshaft sensor out... I bought it with a blown motor...
Can you tell I'm bored? :P

Will do, should definitely (hopefully) be done by then. I don't think the window would fog up anymore than it already does in the winter... I mean you usually have defrost on with heat anyway to get the window unfogged... So it might quicken the process.

WOW that is a nice hood. I always wanted a cowl hood and yours is basically what I pictured. I just started towing a camper with my cherokee and last time under the hood temps got a little warm for my liking. I may have to steal your idea to try and keep temps down. Cant wait to see it after paint is done!
