Yeah, that sounds good. Whatever I do it'll be silver with metallic flake in it.

I'm actually really, really, thinking about using this. I really like this design and what is says on it. It's 8"x2" so it'll fit on the cowl nicely. All I'd do it order this (only $7.00) and then stick this on the cowl over the Silver paint, then paint it the color of my jeep, then peel this off and clear it.

Cant wait to see it after paint is done!
Thanks!!

This is from Friday. I got off from school and went home and got he Hood so I could take it to my freind work. We didn't do anything besides weld a little more holes and then cleaned up one of the welds really nice. It's going to be awhile before it's done.

This is the hood strapped to our trailer. My friends trailer is the small red one that was the one I got the hood in, but he took it with him to work so he would wash his four wheeler so I had to use ours. Which I don't mind, the XJ pulls it like nothing, even when it's full to where it's the weight of the XJ (or more). Doesn't even sag much either, gotta love the S10 Bastard pack... I don't think I've mentioned it, but another reason I want a cowl hood is I tow a whole lot with my Jeep. A lot of the times with this big trailer and about 4 or so four wheelers. Even so, even with the little trailer and my four wheeler a cowl hood should help the heat some.

I do too, my friend and dad like it too, I already ordered it also. So It's going on there whenever it's time to pain it.

Pretty slick. I have considered doing this, but I'm on the fence as I also plan on doing a cowl intake. It may not do justice as I think it would recycle warm air.

Nice work so far, looking forward to seeing how it turns out. I also love how the OP hauls the hood around on trailers. Won't it fit in the back, angled with the seats down? I've never tried...

Thanks! Yeah, it would probably take that warm air into the cowl unless you make a skinny cowl... but it still might.

It probably would fit in the back... but I have a storage rack bolted to the floor that goes over my huge ported subwoofer box with two 12" Kickers and an amp with miscellaneous tools and whatnot in the back. Too much work to take it all out and fold the seat down (if the hood would even fit after all that) when I have a trailer that I just need to hook up to, strap the hood down, and go. I'm used to towing trailers with my XJ so it's nothing new.

That trailer is overkill for something so small haha. Looks good though.

I agree... but that is our only trailer and at the time, it was the only one I had access too since the smaller trailer I would've used (that is my friends) my friend had it with him. But I'm used to this trailer since it is ours and sometimes It's the only one I can use. Thanks!

I just received a picture from my friend and he has started the bondo process. This is only 1/2 of the hood and it only has 2 wipes on it, it has about 4 on it now.

Yeah, true.

I got some more pictures from the bondo work. The top is pretty much complete, all thats left is the putty to go over the top of the bondo and then the smoothing of the inside of the cowl.

Starting to look good now. That's a whole lot of bondo dust too... my friend said it was everywhere in the shop.

The mail just came and I got the cowl decals, plus a free USA decal... Plus I can get 5 more of any he sells for pretty much free if I send some stuff back to him in a provided envelope... This was probably the best eBay seller I've ever dealt with (other than the fact of no tracking number, though I could have PMed him and got it if I was that concerned. But the expected arrival date was today). I'll definitely use him again when I need some more engine type decals, plus he can make custom ones too, I might get a quote on a windshield decal sometime in the future if he can made one that big.

Anyway, rambling over, here is the decals. Very good heavy quality of marital used, and it was next to nothing in price.
