Well most of the mods; WJ knuckles, MM hub kit, raise sway bar links, gears, locker etc; have been added through the years of my ownership of the jeep. These step are just taking the Dana 30 to the next level, but the more I think about it....a truss and knuckle reinforcement would definitely help. On my drive home I was thinking about how I could do a truss, keep it somewhat light, add structural strength and not drop major coin all at the same time. All I can say is stay tuned, gonna try to lay it out tonight and maybe pick up the material tomorrow.
On to the upper shock mounts. Those Jeepspeed upper mounts are nice, but for what they are asking and what they actually do.....I just don't see it for what my trail riding and plans for the XJ are. I do like my stem mount conversion, because it raises the shock body and allows more up travel with the 12" travel shock body. But will my new lower shock mount negate the stem mount? Probably, but they give me an overall simpler mounting system.

Well here's what did with the frame side trackbar bracket. Basically, had a section of box tubing left over from my ford 9 truss, cut a section of the RE bracket out, fitted the piece and welded it up.

Next I started work on the truss...or at least the first version of what I had in my head. The top plates would be 1/4" or 3/8" and the vertical most like be 1/4". Would probably add a few speed holes in the vertical plate, just for fun, LOL!!!
Or should I just pick up a length of box tubing and fit that??? I mean it's only a Dana 30 on 35's.....and I have no plans on jumping or going fast with this rig.
