Dana 44s in Cherokee
So I found a guy who will sell me a pair of Dana 44s that he took out of a 1997 Grand Cherokee. They have front and rear disks and have detroit lockers front and rear. He thinks they have chromoly shafts but has to check. Will these bolt up to my cherokee even though they are from a Grand Cherokee? I can get them for $400 for both so it seems like a good deal.

Well its a dad selling them for his son cause his son put them in and then took them out to put Dana 60s in. They have chromoly axles and 4:10 gears. I'm pretty sure they're not stolen

1st get all you facts straight. you dont even know what axle it is
2nd somethings wrong with them if they are only $400
3rd to put a waggy or ford d44 under and cherokee it takes a good chunk of change. some have thousands into them
4th start asking questions to the owners
once you do this you can ask questions here. your question is to vague to answer

ONly South American Exports could get a d44 front.. and those are extremely rare. I think I have only actually seen pics of one once The rear axle is very possible front highly unlikely

Ok, so I'm going to look at them today or tomorrow. What should I look for specifically? What could he try to be pulling over on me? Whats the easiest way to see if they really have lockers?
