I'm building some tube doors for my XJ so I can go cruising in the summer. They will latch into the stock door latch too. Im sure if you go wheeling with the tube doors there won't be any difference in the structural integrity noticing there is something in between the door frames just like having regular doors.

I'm working on yet another >97 writeup for this. I made new pins out of 1/4" bolts that I JP welded in place. The full writeup should be done next weekend and I'll be posting it in the fab and hopefully the writeup sections.

Yea wheeling doorless isn't going to tweak your unibody. The only way that would happen is if you took your hatch off too, seeing as you can still open your door when flexed but your hatch will not open.

I wan't offroading a while back doorless and was BEATING my ZJ bad and it's perfect. The doors off is not going to tweak anything.
I keep meaning to do a writeup for the ZJ's since it's completely different, but I haven't got around to it yet.

Would the fact you have a 2 door make it less possible to tweak than a 4 door?I have seen the Xj dimple in the rear cargo area on the post between the hatch and the side cargo window a few times even with doors.just think its odd I have only see it on 4 doors

So I was at LKQ first thing this morning, and there is a ZJ with no doors on it thats all smashed up from a rollover. I asked the guy about it and it was actually a friend of his who had it, and he was driving it doorless at the time of the accident. His friend is ok, turns out it rolled over the passenger side and onto the roof after being his in the rear driver side.
Guess what? The entire underside, unibody, etc is perfectly fine with the exception of the normal damage from the initial impact.
So tell us all how dumb we are and enjoy you're four door's and AC, but we will be laughing at you loving the wind and sun.
