You'll be as long as you close that gap eliminating the flex point. Unibody bracing isn't necessary, but it wouldn't hurt either.

Yeah Ive heard that wheeling over time does wonders to the unibody so stiffining it now mihg tsave some hassle down the road, especially since I just joined the local jeep club and they like wheeling hard.

my gas gauge decided to work correctly today. I was quite surprised... I went around a turn and my needle normally hits the red mark and then bam dead! but today it hit the red mark and a gas light came on. I didnt even know I had one lol but Im glad its actually working now.

sadly no, but i've been collecting parts <frames got a small section rotted completely off, so i gutta jack the body up straight and im gunna weld a peace of 1/8inch or bigger pipe into it. mostly i've just been watching it rust, and telling the neighbours that its not forsale. they want it for nothing. i keep running it thou, but the batteries dead so i gutta jump it with my canadian addition hyundai pony. <1600cx> im surpised the pony puts out enuff amps to start the jeep. i was driving the jeep not long ago, but i just moved it to a new parking spot <one with capets for the jeep to rest upon.> the weather heres getting pretty ****ty, frost and rain. so i dont know if im gunna get to it this year, im to scared to weld in the rain. you could say cautious, cause i got no real training... i might just tarp them up for the winter, i aint got a heated garage, so i cant prime/paint nutton, therefore if i weld, the weld will become as rust. i got another jeep half paid for, then i lost my job, but im working again and buddy held it for me, so i should have it soon, 93 in good shape <a few rust spots under neath and a small hole in the sub frame, but no other holes and like 120,000 clicks errr kilometers.
right now if i needed the jeep to push unwanted garbage out of my driveway, it wood do the job, flat tires or not.
in canada rivets are illegal on a rig without a full frame.<i just learned that> of course someone has to see the rivets, but if i were you, i'd rivet it on, and then get someone to mig it, it shouldnt cost much if you already got most of the work done. and i bet the jeep wood last longer, especally if your beating it at all.
but if you counter sink the rivets a bit <make a dimple for them to sit in> and body fill it, it should look good. just make sure you dont spin rocks at the fill.
im no pro, more or less just thinking out loud. if im rong about something, can someone please correct us before deaster strikes.
ps, my pony is so gutless its a challange to drive, got the pedal to the metal and i can get about 30 km/h up hill, if i get a run off. its like a go-cart or something. 1.6 leters of sux. someday im gunna turn it into a mobile generator. just need to find a bigger alternator that will fit. and get a 3000+ watt inverter <there getting cheaper>.
Rock on.

I know its been about forever but I had this finished and had no computer to upload these pictures but here ya go....
I used some fiberglass sealant from local parts store and filled in the holes and gaps, sanded it and painted it then put the flares back on. By the way I know my rear end is lower than my front but I got new leafs on the way =) My front sits at 3.5" lift and my rear is 2.7ish but thats with ad a leaf sag. So I got full leafs

that turned out pretty good, i wonder how long the fiberglass will hold up to the body twisting.
it must feel like your driving up hill all the time eh, with the *** drooping. i put big <14"> tires on the *** of my pony so i could drive it accrossed my lawn, and it feels like im driving it into the ground <as it should>.
i got a 93, needs some body work. just a couple spots welded and some rocker guard, and a heater fan... got some snow last night. you cant even tell the other one <jeep> is a vehical.
im gunna chop mine up come early spring.
peace.

Yeah it really did. I didn't notice the difference it made until I put the new ones on. Went from 1.5 block and 2 aal to 3.5 straight leafs. But it was a B to put on. I snapped the welded nut so had to weld a new one in which was tons of fun hahaha not really and broke a lot of nuts and bolts but its in finally after 3 days. Goood luck man sounds fun
