Gutter Mount Problem HELP!!!
I'm fabricating a roof rack and am using JRC's gutter mounts to mount it. I hooked them up and the passenger's side door hits the mount when closed. Has anyone else had this problem? What can I do?

No I have not. Unfortunately, there is a ****** waterfall of rain between me and the XJ. It only hits when the door latches; it moves up. Only on the passenger's side door; the drivers side has all kinds of clearance. It just seams weird that I would be the only one with this problem.

If your door is moving up when you latch it, your hinges are probably worn out and you need to replace them. Haven't had a close look, but most door catch/latch assemblies have a post sticking out of the door frame that a catch in the door latches onto. The post that the door latches to can be moved, so move your latch post down a bit to line up better with the catch on the door and your problem is solved.

Id loosen the door hinge mounts and re-adjust them and the striker/latch if it were me. Or you could bend the rack mount a little to clearence it. I have the same mounts and no problem with any of the 8 I used on my rack.

You have any close ups of the mount over the door?

Here you go, the mounts are close but they dont rub. I put the mounts over the pillars hoping for a little extra strength since I intended to rub the rack against trees when I have to.
