I was worried about messing up cutting my perfectly straight hood,I meassured several times to make sure I was not going to cut into the hood bracing,and then finaly made my cuts. I'm now extremely interested in what your plan is...so now I'll wait anxiously.

Let me modify my statements. If referring to the support beams on the under side of the hood then NO I wouldn't cut into those but any other sheet metal around them I wouldn't hesitate.

My quest to find an inexpensive H1 hood grill is looking grim. Cheapest I've found then for is $125. I have an idea in my head of what I want. When I get some time I'll draw it up and post it, let me know what you guys think.
