No wiring diagram but i have a bit more detailed description on my build thread

take a look. Feel free to hit me up with any more questions they are awesome to have and were much easier than they looked. One of these days i'll be in there cleaning up the wires and its much more confusing than it looks because it is all the same wire but ya use what ya got.
what wattage is that inverter. If its over ~250 watts you definitely should trade up to a relay instead of just the switch, switch will be destroyed running that kind of amperage through it and either be stuck open or stuck closed

Simple...ground your black wire...run your red to your battery or to an accessory spot in the fuse box...don't key it till you get an antenna...or you'll be buying a new cb

250 watts is only 21 amps. If you have a 30 amp switch you'll be fine, provided you gauged the wire right. Other wise them lil suckers might get a lil toasty

I really doubt that the autozone switch is 30A rated. Im only seeing 20A switches on their site. The peak wattage on a 350W amp is usually 600W+ so switch destruction is likely. I figure its always a good idea to use a relay on anything more than simple electronics.

Ok so just to put your guys minds to rest. Its a 300 watt inverter. I have the link for the exact inverter i used on my build thread https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f46/my...-build-100478/
The inverter actually comes with a much smaller switch than the one that i put on. And since i increased the distance on the switch and outlets i used a substantially thicker wire to avoid voltage drop.

The thing to remember is that the car is only putting out 12 volts dc out of the cigarette lighter its the capacitors and resistors in the inverter that are bringing it up to 110 volts ac. So you can get away with almost any switch because its cutting the power in not power out.

Also as an added safety the unit has a built in fuse incase it gets to much power to it.

I'm probably going to be putting in a larger inverter for the back of the car if i don't end up doing a sound system but we'll see. I'll keep you posted.
