Earlier this year i made this spare tire mount. Total cost was about $30 plus paint and lock. It mounts to the stock roof rails. I added a little xj personality to the top plate.

my 88 ranger went months with no dash at all haha i understand the feeling,and i start mine with a procomp remote starter in the glovebox,so if she stalls passenger can quick fire without me takin hands off shifter or wheel

its unwise to wheel alone,and its on a long cable if NEED be,it can be mounted (duct tape) to the shifter itself,its a pistol grip trigger.....i think u just gave me an awesome idea...i shall mull this mount over...possibly a threaded bracket..and its a sunpro not a procomp,early mornin typos
