Lmao I'm proud of my cake pan idea! Waterproof to 2.5" in case I flood my cabin

The power is 6-gauge wire. It holds its shape really well, and my tires don't move that far. I never disco (not til I lift, anyway).

I don't want to rain on your parade, it looks very nice, but do you have ventilation? It looks like the amp is on the passenger floor? The exhaust is routed under there and creates heat plus the amp creating heat..... arent you worried it will overheat?

Not testing to criticize just taking angles. If I were you I would get two CPU fans, one to push air in on one side and one to pull air out the other. Insurance. Mounting an amp flat on the floor is not ideal for cooling.... that said I'm mounting my amps under the seat

HYPOCRITE!!! Nah, I appreciate any input I get. I'm new to all this and shooting from the hip. It really isn't hot, though, and I crank it for hours at a time while I'm out driving.

if it were me i'd grab a little computer fan and cut out a hole on the front side and have it push air to the open side to keep it cool. thats what i'd do if it were mine you could even run a remote wire switch to have it turn on when the amp turns on

When I had my 1000 watt amp it had open air and I burned the **** out of my hand a couple of times on it so just consider it

My amp is only 400W, and I've been checking it. I was thinking a lot about heat as I put the carpet on today cause it sealed up the lines. I'm not brushing you guys off, but it is something I keep in mind. So far I'm not having any trouble.

I depends on the amp and if it is an inefficient POS then it will run very hot, if it is a nice amp then it should heat up as much, especially if it is a D class...

Most have built in thermal protection anyway... If it doesn't shut itself off then it isn't too hot

I had a Sony, wasn't the best quality but still. I overheated it a couple times on really hot days, the bass would just cut so I'd flip the switch and let it cool down for a bit

Lol I had a Sony explode once upon a time when I didn't know what I was doing.... It would get boiling hot and turn off, then on, then off, then on, and caught fire! haha what a pile that thing was!

Work of advice,

a four channel doesn't matter so much because they dont need to make much power to drive 6x9's and such. Get whatever you want.

But with a sub amp... get a Monoblock class D. They are much more efficient and cleaner sounding than a bridged 2 channel that makes double the power...
