I have damage to my right rear door, and the metal doesn't push the button in to cut the lights. I had to tape an eraser to the inside of the door to make contact so the light goes off.
This may be a silly statement but the rear light by the hatch is also a switch, you push on the lense and it turns on/off interior lights when hatch is open... ('97+ i'd think all of them)
took me months to find out, until i was taking a chair out the back of my jeep one day and hit the light, thought i broke it until i pushed on it and it came back on...

Lol I got that by accident, too. Never even noticed the dome light til I headbutted it
Wasn't sure if opening the hatch was supposed to activate the cabin lights, though. I figured that button was there for the same purpose as the reading lights up front.

Replaced my tie rod with a V8 ZJ heavy duty one. Replaced my front diff cover, jy pull off, getting rough stuff soon, changed all fluids to synthetic, pulled hub bearings off and axle shafts out, replacing hubs tomorrow, and ordering my cv shafts from tnt customs this week. Gonna be freakin sweet!!!

*edit Thought I should comment on the engine since I had a few PMs
My XJ had the "diesel mod" aka lifter clatter/rodknock at 161k miles.
I had it up for sale but only Jeep guys will give you $3500 for a Jeep that clatters at idle.
My buddy offered me $3K but while I mulled it over he found a ZJ and bought it.
He called me and said he had this Mopar reman crate mill he bought from his workplace (15yr Jeep tech at a dealer)
Seems they bought this 4.0 for a ZJ and when they went to install the trans didn't mate up.
They ordered the correct mill and re-crated this one. My buddy bought it and sat on it for a year before offering it to me.
It was pretty much a deal of a lifetime so I jumped and bought it.

Point is, this was a dealer/Mopar reman. You could order one but I suspect the price would be ridiculously stupid.

Toledo, I really like the painted dash. That looks good. I have thought about doing mine red to match the body. I also like the idea of the bed liner to protect the flares. I am going to put bed liner on mine from the rocker panels to the trim on the door.
