I did something similar but used the stock ac pump and its crazy powerful. Runs air hammer impact etc. And it airs up tires fast. I used stainless steel tubing and nylon tubing and keep my line press about 150 and its still airing up tires when my buddy's $400 CO2 tank is dead!

Ok I have to do all this on my phone and its kinda a pain it will hardly ever let me post pics...when I click the manage attachments button nothing happens most of the time but ill keep trying. Im a cnc machinist at a high end shop so the materials I used may be expensive or hard to find but im sure lowes should have something similar. First I un hooked the lines at the back of the ac pump , my Freon was already gone. Then I put power to the pump using a power probe, but a wire would work . I wanted to find out which was in/out. On the intake I hooked up a watts inline air tool oiler and finally on to a lil valve cover breather style k&n. On the out side of the pump I ran stainless tubing out the bottom of the engine bay to a toolbox in my bed(its a Comanche) that has two retired propane tanks hooked up inline. I.e. into one tank out the into the other thank then out to an airline hookup. Before it goes into the the first i have an air manifold that I made all it is is an area of larger tubing that has T fittings in it a there I have a pressure switch that turns

on at 125 psi and off at 160. I keep this set at max psi. Switch is actually a 220 volt square d but it works just fine . I also have a large liquid filled pressure gauge and finally a 175 psi blow off valve. I have a switch on the dash to send power to the manifold switch and if the system is below125 ppump kicks on, it almost always runs. I got a good air filter and keep the air tool oiler turned up high. All tubing is 5/8 ss except for one section of nylon I put in in case it ever freezes hopefully that will blow out. I used to have it ran to front and rear bumpers but the connections kept getting debris in them. I will try pix a few times more.

wow, great idea. can you use with onetank? or no tank? and why the tool oiler? is it automatic or what?

I use the oiler b/c the freon used to lube the pump so now it has none. I used to have no tank and just a air Chuck on the pump and it worked great for tires but not tools. Tanks give u the power for the tools and two tanks is like a rolling shop. Oh and the oiler is automatic just keep it full and set the level of oil u want and it mixes w the incoming air
