First I took a 3/4" eye bolt and pried the end open in a vice.
Here it's bent open a little so that I could wrap it with a #4 wire casing to that I didn't scratch up my rack:
Then I slipped it around one of the bottom rails of the rack:
After I did this I clamped it closed again with some channel locks.
I used the stock mounting cup inside of the wheel to hold it down. I used a stainless washer and wing nut to secure the whole thing to the roof:
Then used a cable lock and a master lock for a little extra security:
And that's that lol Anymore questions just let me know.

Well the bottom rails are 1/2" and the eye bolt is 3/4" so it just slides back and forth a little (EDIT: only when the tire isn't on the rack; otherwise it's solid), but nothing major. I like the diamond plate on the bumper. I was thinking about doing something similar to that if I can get my uncle to let me use his welder. Looks pretty beefy.

that's cool but i will have to find a bigger eye bolt though because my bottom are 3/4 emt same as my side rails i figured that if i'm going to load it i want a little more meat there for what i plan on hauling up there.
also that bumper is very beafy i can stand on it and jump up and down and it doesn't move or anything haven't tried to push anything with it yet to see if it will hold i was jsut affraid of one of my kids running around the cars and slamming thier head into a corner of it now they'll just kinda bounce off.lol

Here's one of my favorite mods so far.
We do a lot of mud here. often times going into water over the headlights. Last year I sucked some water in and blew a rod through the block. So I wanted to make sure that wouldn't happen again, but I didn't want to spend the money on a snorkel, which I don't really think is that great. They retain the factory airbox, which I think is next to impossible to really make airtight unless you silicone the dam thing shut.
I really don't care for the look of a pvc snorkel coming up the a pillar. So I got myself some 3 inch dust collection tube from Grizzly and went to work. I kept the rubber elbow coming off the throttle body and attached the tubing to that. I came across the top of the engine, through the passenger side fender, through the side panel in the pass. side footwell and up near the glove box. Then I mounted a small cone filter there. It is noisey, but not so much that it drowns out the stereo. And since it is not my DD, it really doesn't bother me at all. In fact I have grown to like hearing the beast "breathe".
Anyway here are some pics.
It works great for stuff like this.
I figure if the water gets that deep inside the jeep, then I'm bailing out anyways.

I do, but the blown engine kinda used up any extra jeep money. The side lug still grip good yet.
And my ac doesn't work any more. I must have broken a line when I put the new engine in, but that's ok, cuz on board air will be next.
