After purchasing this at Wal-Mart I opened it up and cut the power wire inside and soldered a new power wire. I ran the new power wire to my fuse block with constant power and the original power wire to a switched source which then turns on the LED and sends power to the USB outlet. And as far as copying the idea, no problem. You cant beat it for the price($10).

well i hope mine doesn't get smashed haha. only thing i did like that was back into a log pointing uphill and got stuck after i smashed my taillight. it was awesime stuff.
