Is it possible to wire switches onto the steering wheel? I wanna put my KC Switches there. I noticed some of y'all with '00's and '01's have switches on the wheel from the factory.. So is it something anybody could do?

I would think If you picked up a steering colum with cruise control from a '97-newer XJ ,you could rewire the wheel switches to control relays for whatever you'd like, grab a haynes/chilton book and take a look at the wiring for the colum. run low amp power thru the switch to a relay and go from there...

I think every thing in the wheel switches wise is powered by something called a clock spring. Look it up from what im tole there a PITA to work with.

the problem will be you cannot modify a clockspring to work with aux switches.

You don't need to modify the Clockspring. The signal going through the steering wheel can be used to energize a relay. The relay will control the flow of current to the load.

how do the sensors differentiate between the electrical signals then?
i would think this would only work if you rewire the cruise controls like another poster said to use the existing circuit paths.
