Well here are the LED tail lights I have been working on. I’m building these for greater visibility for Search and Rescue. I wanted to keep the OME look but increase my visibility These are very bright! I got the idea looking on EBay for LED xj tail lights and nothing. Then I measured the light housing and 4” square is what I came up with. So I found 4” square LED fender post mount for a semi.
Took them apart.
Made a template, Marked the tail light and used a Dremel to do the cut out.
Removed interior compartment walls.
Siliconed them, then aftre about 12 hours tightened them down snug.
And then Installed them.
A few short videos.

Thanks, I reinstalled the OME lights for back lighting and One thing that I added when I installed them was, since I dont need the backup light any more, I cut it off and spliced it into the turn signal. So the whole light is nice and bright.

correct that is why I said to go and get a steering column out of a 1997+ with cruise and use the wires coming out at dash end to wire relays. if you got real fancy you could use the accelerate and coast buttons to run your winch in and out...
the clock "spring" is just a loose coil of banded wire (like inside a tower style computer) that is half coiled, so that it tightens and loosen with wheel turn.

Relay Switch prong ---Switch in dash--- bright relay
(Leave switch in dash on to work with brights!)
This is how I have my 4 100w procomps
