No. An engine can only pull in so much air. Won't help you any.

The cowl is huge its not gonna restrict the airflow. The volume of the cowl is prolly close to twice that of the intake tube.

99% of intakes are a waste of money. If its under the hood in a XJ, it is probably a sham. A. its still hot air, and B. intakes dont add a special map to your vehicle that magically increases Hp/Tq/Fuel Mileage.
