Sorry, I totally forgot to add that part!
I got these connectors out of a 1997 Grand Cherokee (assuming any ZJ from 94-98 will be the same) in the wrecking yard (I used 2 driver's side set ups as they were available, but passenger ones will work too). You end up with a couple extra wires left over (as driver's ones have 24 wires, and my XJ used 20 and 19).

here they are. you can see the old attachment point... haven't got the time or patience to take it off a 1/4 turn at a time right now. Oh and i also went out and got some 10awg wire to replace stock baja wires. Are the stock roof bars steel?? if they are i might be able to make an easier mounting and ground system.
What size are those arms? That is cool man, now I have more stuff to do thanks to these forums I go to.

Dash board outlets
Hey guys just wanted to show ya the outlets i dropped in my dash. Did the mod before i signed up for cherokee forum so i missed some of the pics during the build but any questions go for it.
Hardwired a belkin inverter into the front dash of the car. Took a little tweaking but got it to work. Great to have.

1.50" Sainless Steel Ball w/ shift **** nut from '88 XJ

Does anyone know the inside distance between bumper mounts on the front of a 97+ XJ? I am thinking about fabbing a front bumper and don't want to take off the stock one yet... If you built one I would love to see/hear from you.

Sorry buddy but you are WRONG. The cowl doesn't do **** to hold the hood in an accident. If the bolts DID shear, the back of the hood would skip right over the cowl anyway.... its not stopping anything lol
There is a lot that has to happen before a hood comes loose. the safety catch has to fail (ever see a car that rear ends someone? yup the front of the hood gets pushed down...), The bolts have to shear clean off, And the hood would have to be so strong that it will not fold like paper.
If you can come up with evidence of this happening then forgive me but I have never heard of such a thing.
So am I on death row every time I drive my GMC Sprint? There is no cowl behind the hood.... The brackets hold it and nothing else... I doubt the bolts are even grade 5 haha and I had rear ended someone before. The hood just folds.... doesn't even bend the brackets.

I just have to say that is a beautiful Sprint! I've got a 72 El Camino (with the same functional hood) That I'm restoring and I hope it will look that good one day!
