If this isn't tied in somehow besides the bumper holes, you can pretty much bet you'll either twist the rear section of the unibody off or just pull it straight off on a tough pull.

That is going to bend the bar which will lead into ripping out the unibody mounting.... The reason is 1" solid will bend like cake and with the hook mount in the center it is the weakest point of the bar. with a 2700# cherokee(dead weight) plus the pulling force(live weight) it will bent like cake. I am willing to bet you can not use a high lift and jack up the rear of the cherokee with out if bending. Great idea just needs some more work

2700# with out a motor transmission and rear axle maybe.

I would make two recovery point out at the ends and make some sort of tie-ins.

shaneo417 must not like the feed back as he has been silent after the first posting. As for looks, it's ok but from a functional and safety stand point I dont think that set up will work very well. All aftermarket people will tie and recovery point into the frame, just stands to reason. I have no Fab skills and I can see the weak points. A little more work would be needed to make that a good recovery point.

This is the Recovery Point I use. So far I've pulled others out with it and others have pulled me out - Works Great.

Nice!! LOL!!

My $.02 worth...I think it needs a lot more bracing for hard pulls. The length of the bar is the problem. The span between the mounts is too great, even with it being solid bar. Add the fact that only 2 bolts per side are holding it in place, and I would have issue using it. It may get you out of mild stuck, but I would not use it for a hard pull, such as a mud stuck. It could fail, and really hurt someone, or worse. No offense, but you asked...

yeah, the bolts should be fine it is into the hitch mounts, but i did use it today, and it didn't bend or flex at all (weird i thought round bar bent like cake?). i did some hard pulling on it to(ford 150 with 40's stuck in pit). im problem gunna brace it up a little more just for security reasons and a bit of piece of mind i guess lol
