Thank You I really appreciate it. The lights are wired directly to the battery but not to the terminal itself. There is a stand off that is attached to the side of the fuse box on the left side of the engine bay. I attached the power wire to that standoff giving it 12 volts all the time.

And i love where i put my switches, it keeps my dumb buddies that ride in the jeep from turning them on and resulting in a HEAVY ticket here in North Carolina.. haha

Thank you! Just watch out on how to mount it, i went the hard way by mounting it on the original cargo rack mounts, aand i took a lot of measuring and bending to get the exact angles because i didnt want to do any welding while the rack was on the roof (melted paint is not my idea of a good time, haha)

but if ur gonna make one, the plans are sound, but i would go with gutter mounts... and if u find any faults in the design, let me know, because i pretty much designed it to fit mine...

All I can say is wow that is Amazing I have been searching thru the fab pages looking for ideas on racks as I am preparing to start mine I'm positive I've just found the one I will model mine after just one question with your light rack so far back on the cab do you find it casting shadows with the lights on infront of the jeep or is there enough light cast that it's not a problem they just look a little far back compared to others I've seen but wow I am so impressed by this great job

You make a good point. But no I don't really have any problems with the lights beams hitting the roof. I picked spots Just for that reason. But I'm sure if you mounted floods or even fog lights, You might run that risk.

But thank you for the positive feedback.

Thanks man, I appreciate it! Yeah I love that shop, its actually not my shop but where my father works at. They allow him to work on projects and use there tools as long as he pays for the materials. So its a pretty good deal... And I love every chance I get at working in there!

Always nice to have a generous shop owner that will let the boys play with toys in there as long as they play nice.
Your work is very inspiring to many here by the looks of things and the rack you built was sort of a thunder stealer for me because I was just at home depot looking at the steel tubing when I came home and saw your thread here and you built pretty much exactly what I had envisioned in my head.

I had wanted to build mine out of aluminum for light weight but after seeing your thread I think I may go with steel that way I can do all the welding myself as I can't weld aluminum.
I have ordered some rain gutter mounts and I'm just waiting for them so I can get them bolted on the jeep and get some measurements from there.

My welding outfit is just a flux core wire feed but I don't have the shielding gas kit so my welds will not be anywhere near as pretty as yours.

Thanks man, I can't tell ya how far a good angle grinder can go. I did some pretty nasty welds, and a die grinder/ angle grinder fixed them right up. But good luck to ya. Post a picture of the finishes product!

Oh haha. Na. The name of the plant is called "Profile" and they make that stuff to stop erosion on hills and highways or somthing. And they make salt for icy roads and what-not.
