You cut them higher than I did. But either way it looks good and you won't have to worry about cutting your tire's up on the worthless piece of body.
Totally worth it.

im going to be doing the same once its not -15 outside everyday
the passenger side is already rotted away to nothing

Gotta love the rust our vehicles get around here.. my Cherokee has the same problem with the rear quarters rotting (also a 98) and I plan to do something like this to mine.

Such a bad design by jeep, just dead space that collects dirt and water. Nice job on the trimming
