I agree, but the tank could still be damaged because all the force from landing on it would go straight to the tank.

do you put a small angle bend up on the front edge? i would think that would help from jousting a stick into the tamk when driving forward...

Nice cheap skid,but you just changed the integrity of the hitch by drilling it.

its a cheap class 3 the ball is frozen into..it is basically a bumper

It wouldn't do much good for a metal tank.
it wouldn't support the vehicles weight if that what you mean, but it think it would definately be more protective against tank rupture than the plastic skid plate .

All it would really need is some plate that went up the sides, & tapped into the body! I'd also plate the front of the tank... maybe just bolted to the skid, & skid hangers.

All together good job though!
