My Home made Snorkel
Here are a few pic's of my home made snorkel.

Airbox sealed water tight the suction on the snorkel is great if you hold up a piece of paper in front of it it will stick right to it at idle. These pic's were taken before i placed a seal around the fender where the snorkel enters.

Thanks
I used this really hard plastic hose that i got at Lowes and got a fitting there as well that i attached to the airbox and the hose and then to the snorkel.I also have the K-N filter in the airbox and a pre filter i made at the top of the snorkel to keep out bugs and leaves.I will try to take some more detailed pic's when i get a chance. Also sprayed the Hose flat black with high heat paint.

Very nice. I like the inexpensive builds like this. Remains effective but low budget. What's the rough money into this build. I would def like more pics so that I can copy it. Lol.

That hose in the engine compartment looks kinda small. Are you getting enough air when you really get on the throttle? Also what materials did you use for the snorkel. I like the idea of coming out in that location. Looks good.

It does look good. I would like to do it also. More pics please. The smallest you wanna go on intake tubes or pipes or hoses is 2.5" inside diameter.

Im getting plenty of air.The Ride even seems smother and the pickup is much more responsive. The suction if you keep your hand about 2-3 inches away from the top and hit the gas your hand gets sucked right to it.I swear it has more suction then a dyson vaccum. The snorkel pipe is ABS 2" and the top is a 2" U with a 3in Water drain and the tube under the hood is 2 1/2" going into the airbox.

If you really think about it the factory airbox opening is about 3' wide and 4" high. Now take into account that the air in the engine compartment is much hotter and the air flow is restricted by the space around it.A snorkel works almost the same way a ram air works with cold air from the outside the engine compartment being fed straight to the motor.I have no issues with it.Very happy with the outcome. On another note anyone know the size of the hose used on a ARB snorkel to the airbox?
