Yes, and it worked great....but just having a snorkel dosent mean you can go straight for the deepest water or mud hole you can find. You also need to make sure you seal up all your electronics, like your ecu and fuse panel, and also seal up your distributor. Because your engine isn't the only thing that doesn't like water. If you don't take the proper precautions you can still end up stranded in a deep water hole even with a snorkel.

That's awesome, I've always wondered about that. Not many puddles deep enough in ca so I wouldn't ever need one lol

whats a good way to seal the dist? can you apply rtv around the cap base and install it? Is ir suggested to seal the wire boots too? thats going pretty deep though. mabe need a diving mask soon after that

I used window caulk silicone on mine..... it seals water tight and also water proof its flexible as well and dosent crack. I sealed up around my distributor and the shields on the plugs. And anything electrical like your computer or fuse panel. For those I installed them into a tupperware container and drilled a hole through the container for the wires to feed through and then siliconed around the hole to make it water tight and if the computer or fuses need replaced just pop off the lid to the container and wallaa.

So now that you have had it for a while have you noticed any performance or mpg gains? I've heard that adding that much tubing kinda convolutes and restricts the airflow. I really wanna do it just like you did because it looks so clean!

It hasn't restricted any of my airflow. I think it did add a little performance and mpg gains cause the jeep does run much better. Its now pulling in nice cool air from outside the engine bay and not all that hot engine air from factory.

Ok cool thats good to hear. I don't mean to be asking all the noob questions but I hear both side of the argument all the time but never any definitive results!

Hey no prob man everybody's a noob at one point and time. LOL

Na for real though I do believe it helped my jeep run alot better. When intake manufacturers make intakes for vehicles the do lots of tests and show definitive results on performance gains. Eventhough mine isn't a bought and paid for intake it still shares the same concepts in providing the engine in fresh cold outside air rather than really really hot engine air from inside the engine compartment. That's why intake manufacturers started selling cold air intakes cause there results show that cold outside air gained more performance from your engine.

Yours may not be a bought one but it sure as hell looks like one! but yeah it seems like a snorkel would be the ultimate cold air intake since it is completely out of the engine compartment and getting fresh cooler air from the outside

So where is your filter if you just used a dryer vent at the end
