Do those screws on the A-pillar allow water in??? That's my only concern. Also kind of worried about drilling through everything on the fender to mount the conduit box and PVC.

 

Just a question about snorkels in general, but why is it that all snorkel i have ever seen have the bend facing forward toward the hood instead of towards the back? I think it just looks wierd plus alot of designs i have seen, it seems like it would let alot of water in. Basically what i am askin is does it matter which way it is facing?

 

At idle no it doesn't but when you are driving than it forces air into it

 

Hey cherokee country, to answer your questions, screwing it to the a-pillar does not let any water in. If your that worried you can add some silicone around the screws to seal it up better. And for the drilling the hole through the fender, no need to worry there either. Just drill a hole and run your pipe through and when you put the conduit junction box on screw it on to the fander and then you can run a bead of silicone around it to seal it up as well. So there is no need to worry.



Hey 96 swampdog, No it dosent mater, some people face them forward and some backwards but either way it will still work. It dosent let any water in either way, its just personal preference. I do think you get better air flow with it forward though.

Why not put intake behind firewall under right windshild wiper plenty of room. If I get into water deep enough to get up to windshild I am in to deep

 

Many people do go that route. And is a good alternative. But I just like and prefer the look of the snorkel going up the a-pillar. I also like how you get fresh cooler air from the intake pulling in air from outside of the engine compartment.

 

do you have a cone filter at the top or you just kept the stock filter

 

My snorkel runs into the engine bay and to the stock air box. so it uses a drop in K&N air filter for the stock air box.

If your talking about the long flex pipe.....NO.... I got it from PepBoys Auto Its a 3" Intake Flex Pipe and a 3" Intake adapter plate.

Now at the very top of the snorkel on the outside up at the roof is a Drier Vent all I did with it was pull out the flap on the inside, so it will draw air in.

 

if you use a street 90 it would be tighter, because the 90 is a lot shorter then a normal one
