really liking it, I hope you scuffed up the crome on the grill first... and I go with the main green on the wheels

 

Doing flat black wheels. Black rock 941 dune style.

 

I'm not telling you what to do, but I think the flat green wheels would make an awesome contrast with the rubber, but I've never liked the blacked out rim craze. On some vehicles it looks good, tho.

 

Murda vs. Ninja turtles.... hmm I am a fan of the turtles.

 

It's cool I hear where you're coming from. No HMMWV has green rims though, the overall ideal of the camo is to break up the lines. I do agree that the green with the black rubber would be cool looking, I was even flirting with the idea of painting the rims black/green (kinda like a WWII half track) at first too.

 

I like the shiney red.. but what do I know.. I am a girl! we like shiney things!! LOL!

 

Jeepers, you oughtta go to the junkyard and pull some nice chrome flashed bumpers off an older cherokee. My JY just got an '88 in that I might yank those off of.

Looks good, but Ive got a couple questions:

It looks like you left the window trim on and painted right over it. It that correct? If so, does this paint adhere to rubber, because I saw a friend do something similar to his car and the trim cracked, peeled, etc., and looked horrendous.

Also, did you do the door jams, etc., because if not youre going to see the original color pretty easily at all the right (wrong) angles.

I like where your going with this though. Interested in seeing the finished product.

 

I did leave the window trim on, however I taped over it so it didn't get painted.

Yes, door jams/door shells were the first part of the project. I stripped all the trim down the interior length and removed the weatherstripping as well before painting (I chose the green [bad choice, black woulda been best] if you're wondering)
