iv been messing with the 4 link calc on pirate 4x4,
what are some of the things i should be looking out for when setting it up? and alot or a little of what is good or bad?
so far iv learned that the anti squat should be between 80 and 120% and the roll axis as close to zero as possible.

okay sweet thats the type of design i was looking for. if your trying to make the upper arm angles as wide as possible why didnt you make them longer and spread them out? im sure has to do with the geometry on this one.
what are the eye to eye lengths of the upper and lower arms on yours?
once i have those i should be able to get pretty close as far as the angles.
and is that 2x6 box tubing that you used for your cross member?
sorry for all the ?s lol

No, i havent used the 4 link calculator. I dont drive it on the street, so dont know really how it would do on a hard brake. The front end is pretty soft by design so I am sure it would dive some just like any car. As far as squatting on hard take off, it is hard to say. My sense is it does not, but I have never actually watched someone take off hard it it. Sorry not much help on your questions, but spends all its time offroad. All I know is it goes good and flexes good enough for me.

well i took the widths of your links and put them into the calc with the angles i already had and it improved my numbers some, if i had the angles of your arms id be able to tell you what the numbers are, but i figure thats what matters is just if it works for you or not, i already have the calculator so i might as well use it, who knows maybe i can get the geometry set right then add coilovers down the road so i can hit some whoops and not bounce out of the seat lol
