Its a 110v 90 amp flux welder from harbor freight. I got the same one that i built all my stuff with. Works pretty good for $110! Looks great man! I hooked mine in the same way with only the 8 factory bolts and the 2x4 goof a ways into the frame rails. I like you hitch though. Leaves room for the jack and such. I welded an actual reciver into mine

So, went to NAC Fest this past weekend at Rausch Creek ORP, PA and you guys were right about the jack foot hanging down. I smoked it coming off a pretty large rock. Didn't damage the jack or the mounts, aside from scratches and some paint being scraped off, but I turned it around after that. Hatch still opens so I'll leave it that way. Wheel and learn I guess, but should've listened to y'all. Bumper took some pretty hard hits on departures as well and yanked one guy out with the hitch, no problems with it though so I'm happy.

Nice job on the bumper. I have the same exact mig from harbor freight, the price is definitly right. One thing I wanna try is that anti-spatter stuff, the mig we have definitly sprays it all over the place.

Hopefully some time in the future I'll be doing one for the front bumper, have a nice bull bar that PO bolted to the bumper only, don't like that. Plus some tow hooks would be nice.

Totally, it's more than worth the money. I've very impressed with it. I use Lincoln 0.35 flux wire and it has a bit less spackle. IMO

do you think that jack mount would work on a stock xj rear bumper ? ? Been thinking about mounting my jack with that same mounting bracket, only to my stock rear xj bumper. do you think the stock bumper with be strong enough to hold it ? thanks !

What did you use to cut out where you slide in the 2x4?

I used my Dremel. I drilled holes in the corners, 1/4 inch bit, so I knew where to stop. If I remember correctly I had to use my angle grinder on the bottom bits and fine tune it with the dremel because of the angle the dremel has to be at to get in there. If you have a flexy head for a dremel it would probably work awesome.

I see. I got a cheap air body saw but it won't even cut it.

Well a sawsall should work if you drill a hole to get the blade in first. I would try the same with your body saw.

I did it today. I used a sawsall and a grinder to make holes to put the blade in.
