Oh yea. About the gaps, I try to keep the bumper away from the body a little more than the stock bumper and/or most aftermarket ones because of deflection when hitting or landing on the rocks. A little more "cushion" as to speak.

Good work man. At first, I wasn't quite grasping the concept of your mounting strategy. The build really cleared it up. Great work my friend.

So today I had time to finish up the rear bumper.
Took the shackle relocation brackets out, to trim it a little because it was obstructing a portion of the original bumper weld nuts, then I was able to drill it out.
Took the hitch and skid plate off. Some of the holes were off on the 2x4 tube nutstrips so I had to use a burr to grind away portions of the holes on uniframe and on the brackets.
Finished welding the crossmember together then mounted it. Painted the rear bumper and mounted it on.
Then I was able to mount the skid plate. I can't use the hitch because it was interfering with the bumper anyway. I plan to eventually weld on a receiver tube on it someday.
Anybody wanna give me two shackles for the rear? Ha.
I guess I could say this bumper build is at a conclusion.

Finally opened the holes big enough to slide the tubes in. Looks like my nuts are slightly off. The shackle relocation brackets bolt holes need to be slotted. But I don't feel like taking them off, I think I ll just drill out with step bit.
But yeah the tubes fit perfectly inside the frame otherwise.
