keep it in mind, but keep looking for now. you'll find a good deal. unless you only want 110/115v

do you have 220v service? other than your stove/dryer plug.
you'll want 220v 50 amp. stoves/dryer are usually only 30 amp.
Thanks guys!

Yeah, I can get 220v service. So.. what requirements should I be looking for in a welder. Something that can weld up to 1/2 inch thick stuff???

Which needs 220v 50 amp?

Basically you need to look at the duty cycle and what is in the mddle of its welding capabilitiies. No need to buy a welder to weld a max of 1/4 if you plan on welding 3/16 all the time. For fabbing stuff most ppl use between 3/16 and 5/16. so look for a welder that will do 3/8 or thicker. As your fab skills come on.. you will move on to thicker stuff, plus having the ability to weld thicker stuff for profit.

That Lincon 140 is a good machine. Another place you could look is harborfreight.com or homier.com they have good prices for the backyard fabber at a real good price.

most 220v welders are 50 amp. it's like an oversized 3 prong plug.

moreso, you'll need a 50 amp receptacle. a stove or dryer receptacle won't work.

Miller Matic 210 and you will never buy another unless you prefer tig. The bender just find a cheep pump jack one like harbor frate then add a mumatic air thing. You can make a table for it. But with this combo you'll never look back!
