I built my own too using .188 wall 2x2 tube . Spending 300 for a simple set of sliders was not an option.

-12' of 3"x2"x.188" wall square tubing for the main runners
-approx. 12' of 1.125"x.120" round D.O.M. for the outer bars
-approx 12' of 1.50x.120" D.O.M. for the supports to the frame

All together it was somewhere in the neighborhood of $125-$150 in materials, if I remember correctly.
