Don't skimp out on a cage, Its supposed to save your life. And don't do it out of HREW either.

The air tank is actually moved to the back now. Read this thread to see where the tank is now. https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f58/st...op-top-165507/ . And don't listen to anyone that says HREW won't cut it for a cage. It will be fine as long as you use proper wall thickness and diameter and TRIANGULATE as much as you can. And yes I can say that with confidence since I have an HREW cage in my jeep that has been in for a couple years now and has been on its side and is still doing just fine. Didn't even tweak the unibody or cage

What thickness and OD are you using? I haven't researched the difference between Hrew a Dom, but I've dealt with Hrew enough to not want to trust it for anything I want to use more than once. What little I know about it is that it becomes structurally compromised if it has a kink, large dent, gouge or other deformation in it. Some expert chime in please, I'm talking out of my ***!

Looking good so far! Planning on making a cage here shortly. I just so happen to make all sizes of DOM tubing for a living. And can get all material for damn near next to nothing ;-)
