Default tire carrier unibody mounts

tire carrier unibody tie in, now ive read over tons of threads and have my ideas for this but what im wondering is will drilling and tapping the holes instead of welding nuts will be enough thru 3/16 steel? what if i did fine thread? i kno they are much stronger than coarse

where exactly are you wanting to mount the tire carrier

The hinge will be on the pass side tire will either be in the middle or offset to pass side

so your wanting to bolt something to the rear quarter panel on the passenger side? why not build a rear bumper with a hinge on it

lol my bad i didnt write thats what im doin lol yeah im building a bumper with tire swing out in the previously mentioned locations, what im wondering is if i slide super thick angle iron into the unibody channel, and use that for my primary mounts will it be strong enough, im gonna be puttin shackles on there too, its pretty much gonna tie in the same spot as stock hitch just wondering if like 3/8ths angle iron with be strong enough for pulls and the weight of the tire, its only a 31
