So how is that working out for you? The whole bumper carrier looks good, you did a fine job and the concept is great. However if your driver seat is on the left (USA style) then your natural side to see out the back thru the rear view mirror would be on the right ... not directly behind you. In order to see well out there where you have left open, you would have to turn your head all the way around, look over your left shoulder, or relocate your rear view mirror. IMO. Seems to me you have it on the wrong side? Whaddyou think Mark?
Hey ... not trying to start an argument or be sarcastic. Just never seen it there before. Mine is also offset (made by Detour!) and it's on the left & it's perfect.
Just saying ...

In any car i drive my natural instinct is to adjust the mirror so most of my view is directly behind me and to the center. If i want to see the rear right side or hard to the rear left i should be looking back or using the other mirrors anyway.

I like both designs. With it on the right, therre is better left right balance on the vehicle offsetting the driver and front diff weight. On the left, you do not have to twist your neck as much to see out the back.
How much swing out do these two have? Do you have any problems with a trailer hooked up?

you know i never really thought about which side the tire was on. as i think about it, putting it on the left seems good for better view, but almost every jeep ive seen has it on the right (including mine) Although mine is more centered than either of yours, it is more to the right side.
now im curious to find out why.
most of the ppl i know built theirs with it on the right, where as yours (StationWagon) was bought (if i read that right) with the tire on the left.
hmmmm.......
