how wide is the flat stock that you used to make the bumper mounts?

1/4 by??? 4 inch? 5 inch? 8 inch? theres a width also

id guess 5 or 6 x 1/4 judging by the pics but i want to know for sure, im digging this bumper and is added to my to do list now

sorry sandaddik for the slow reply. I started with two pieces of 1/4" steel 5.5" wide, and 17" long. Then I notched the upper corners with a hole saw to rest the tube in, and the cut the diagonal. I had to notch the back end a bit to fit around the sway bar as well.

ok cool 5.5 is what i needed to know
no worries life gets in the way of jeepin and web wheelin sometimes

great looking bumper, im going to take ideas from your design if you dont mind, love the simplicity, functionality, and its good looking

I wish I had some updates/new pics, but school has priority, and its been a little hectic around here. Maybe ill have some time to throw at it this weekend. But recently its just been collecting a little rust.

Very nice bumper man! i was thinking to make one similar to this in my Fabrication class. Those Mig welds you showed look very good, the only problem I can see with them is the leg sizes. (There is more weld on the tube than the base)
Cant wait to see the winch mounted. Keep up the good work

Hey dude, I saw this thread yesterday and thought the red steering/suspension looked familiar. Now I know why! That bumper is looking pretty darn good so far.
