Default Unibody Stiffening, Clearance Gaining, Rocker Panel Cutout Air Tank Sliders

Cut out my destroyed rocker panels and welded these badboys in. 2x6x3/8 overkill sliders. We are also making them into air tanks approx. 10 gal of air. It will also be tied into stiffened unibody rails and then we are going to boat side it. They will also serve as the foundation for my exo.

Looks good! 3/8 is way big, but never going to bend. How did you tie them in?

We welded one inch square 1/4 inch thick tube in the pocket cutting the rockers out leaves. (pic 3) Then we welded in 1 1/2 square tubing between the slider and the door sill. Its welded all the way down the top side and to all the supports under. It will also be tied into the unibody after I put the TNT stiffeners on with three posts and then it will be boat sided.

Where are you planning on putting air fittings and if they only hold 10lbs don't plan on doing much with them. Might be able to air up 2 tires. Had a buddy do it with a bumper and he could air up one 35 from 6psi to 25 and it was 6" tube.

They should hold about 10 GALLONS at 200 psi. I have an onboard compressor as well. The air fittings will be next to the b pillar of the exo cage so they are protected from rocks. I am going to drill a hole on each side under the seat and run the filler lines under the boat side. They will power my ARB lockers and fill tires.

That should be solid as hell! I saw a post on here about bumper air tanks. I like the idea, it'll free up a lot of space. Was that 10gal total or a piece?

Actually I just did the calculations it's only 2.5gal per side. Still doubles what I have now for no additional cost.

I was looking into air spring suspension, that would be perfect for that. Plus you can have a removable tank. 5gal will run ARBs.

Sorry I meant gallons. I use CO2 tanks and they come in pounds and I wasn't thinking straight.

I just ordered the TNT stiffeners. Next Friday they go in as well as bracing the Rock rails to the unibody and then the boatside. I will post pics of it all next weekend.
