which welder? I lay down welds with a harbor freight welder that look almost as good as the ones from the big miller. sheet metal is god awful hard enough as it is. for sheet metal I would tack the new pieces in place, grind smooth, then cover with bondo. trying to fully weld sheet will quickly warp, blow through, and cause frustration.

do you have any pictures of what you're working on?

But it can't be that way, if it is that way it will leak, do I reweld it and not grind down as far? Let it be a lip there?

usually people cover it up with bondo and do some body work. you don't replace body panels and just call it good after welding it

^^^ this is what I would do also. I just finished a Cowl hood. There was no way I would have been able to fully weld it and still b able to straighten it up w bondo. Don't get carried away welding. Ull just make more work for urself in the end. That welder should do it just fine. Dude says he does better with that Clark or Chicago Electric brand (whichever one hf is selling now a days) and I can promise u your century machine is a better machine. Not by a whole lot but its still better.

didn't you do any research into body work before trying to fill a hole in your roof? unless you roof is flexing like a mother lover or you're laying on top of it, bondo is the way it's done. I'm not sure what other way to do it and still put paint over it and have it come out smooth a good bondo layer can actually stiffen up the area a bit. it dries/hardens more like a rock, not play-doh

No need to be a d***, I've seen Bondo crack so I thought I'd ask about that area.
