The ad has been deleted so I can't help ya there. If its a Hobart handler 190 or handlet 210mvp those wire feeds shouldn't have any issue.

It looks like the welder is set up good Maybe a bit more heat or a bit less wire. Your movement looks good. Try to just tilt your nozzle tip down so it will be half way or maybe a hair more favoring the bottom piece. You dont want that to break off. I see you sanded the bottom piece, thats good... you may even want to grind a bevel in the tab.

Just play around with scrap pieces till you like the results.

Thanks for the input. For some reason it seems I got more penetration on the shackle and not the bottom tube. I did heat it up too before welding it though. Basically I'm just going to be reinforcing and gusseting it a whole lot to compensate.

Always remember kids;

Good welders can do it in all positions with maximum penetration...

I have one. I can weld pretty well with it, but now that I'm doing a lot more fabrication it is not meeting all my needs. It is a good learner machine, but if you know how, buy a better machine.

first pic are somewhat decent, but the second pic, it look like you are running it too hot with too much wire feed.

Ran the same heat and feed rate. 18v and 3.5 or 4.5 on the wire speed dial

To me looks like your too cold, since it's built up so high and not fused in on the sides. Plus a little high on the wire feed maybe. Check out weldingtipsandtricks . com He has some good info and things that could help. I tried some of his advice from the videos and got a lot better at it. Just food for thought.
