Thanks! Overall it's 8' wide by 3' tall. 3/8" plate, all cut by me, beveled edges on all joints, welded with 3/16" 7018. It's a beast, when it's done I'll put it on the scale to see how much it weighs.

I used to do do more heavy duty stuff and even know how to stick weld, though I am a bit out of practice at this point. I did weld a bicycle fork yesterday and it was a hoot. Fork it by barnstormerbikes, on Flickr

Lookin' REAL nice...TIG?
Worked on the pusher some more today, got it almost done, but didn't take pics as I was continuously getting called off to other issues. Got the plastic protector on the bottom, with a cover plate to sandwich it, it came out pretty sweet...then I decided there were a couple areas that needed reinforcement, so I started that, but didn't finish, got one side cut, placed and tacked in, will do the other side tomorrow. Pics will follow. It is looking badass. My boss even came and told me it was killer!

Joe, honestly I was a bit hesitant about that front end project. But I gotta tell you man, you knocked that out of the park. Came out really good.
Well hell, alright!

yup TIG on .065 wall 4130. Thanks..back in the late 70's I welded 130 Mongoose BMX forks a day for a couple of years straight. That was helpful.

The muscle mig is a great machine.. I got the mm250 in 1994, still works great. I've had to replace the switch in the top pic twice. there are a pair of poles on the switch that aren't used. You can move the wires from the bad pole to the unused ones. And get going again. 1-800-abc weld is very helpful too, the tech support is great. To reverse polarity, just pull the ground cable out the machine (it just pushes in with a twist), and then pull the power cable out (its right next to ground @ the bottom of front panel) and switch locations..

I still can't figure out how to switch the polarity on this thing. I tried pushing and twisting but I couldn't get the wire to unplug. I've seen other welders where they unscrew and switch the two wires put my welder has multiple wires going to each pole? So what do I do?

Can anyone tell me why my welds look like pigeon ****. Im using flux cored gasless. I've already switched the polarity and tried several different wire speed and temperature adjustments. I also made sure I wasn't too close or too far from welding surface. I'm new to welding and I'm trying to get some practice in before I put new floor boards in. Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong?
