The whole assembly? Winch and all? I just ask because a buddy had a winch stolen. If four bolts to freedom is all you have I would somehow secure it a little better. I also mounted my winch too close too the grille and now is a pain in the *** to get the grille/header out.

The grill comes out with 8 screws and the bolts are 1/2 with lock nuts

And also lock tight I mean If someone's carrying around a bunch of wrenches and a can get in the frame rails

Hey op , you could mount it 1-2 inches away I mean I don't really think it matters.

that works also but lifting 80plus pounds compaired to 5 pounds jm2cw as for fair lead closer the better mines a bout 1inch in front of it

Agreed its heavy but I'm young and the whole thing doesn't seem to bad

Any helpful hints on how to bend 1/2in plate 90degrees?

With no radius? Thats hard with no press. You could heat it or knotch it with a cutoff wheel and weld the crack maybe.

Like dude said, either notch it, bend it and reweld it or cut it completely and reweld it. It ain't gunna bend anywhere near tight enough without splitting.

My fairlead is completely against the face of my winch. It just needs to be lined up correctly with the spool.

I heated it for 15-20 minutes didn't even get it light yellow on the line with 3 map gas torches so I'm thinking notch it

Nows when I wish my tech colleges fab shop wasn't closed they have a press big enough to fold 2in in half lol

Mapp gas isn't any hotter than a bic lighter. U need oxygen/acetylene gas mix
