Yeah I know i changed the design when i found some expanded metal scrap for free. BUT I still managed to finish the rebar roof cage. Final specs, 65x44x6". So far it holds all 225 lbs of me so id call it a success. And I included so pics of injuries while making it. I accidentally branded the pattern of rebar into my arm permanently. Let me know what you guys think of everything.

Uhm what do you plan on carrying with this rack? Hopefully nothing more than 50lbs because i think it will break. Nice concept though.

whats it weigh? for that mater what does a standard rack weigh?

i think it will break
why?... the rebar ant guna break, do his welds suck?
only weak point is mounting to the stock rails, but thats done all the time(whith 2 rails and he has 4).

dont let the h8rs git you down. get some large diameter rebar for sliders ind a stinger.

Well anything I make I do expect to break, cause hey I'm not an expert welder and I tend to beat the snot out of anything and everything. So it if breaks it breaks I'm not too worried if I have to fix anything. So far it hold me fine and I weight 225 lbs. Ive gotten on it and shaken it every which way, I even dropped it from the height of the car when I was trying to put it up. My bad knee gave out and when it fell none of the welds broke and nothing bent It really isnt heavy either only about 40-45 lbs. And yes i was going to make a mesh like I had mentioned in another thread. When I was out getting more wire for my MIG I found that large piece of expanded metal, asked the guy how much he wanted and he said it was scrap so only 10 bucks. Figured it would save time weight and would look cool. I also have plans for the open space in the front, I'm thinking about making that a separate enclosed compartment for camping gear that I dont want to get wet. Plus there are still 4 baja lights to put on and my, what has become famous around my town, is my loud speaker haha.
